Do you have a growth mindset?

 Kia Ora Everyone!

For this week as you know New Zealand is Lockdown and that means distance learning.

We are continuing from last weeks task and are focusing on mindset. First what is mindset? Mindset is a way you think of things.  There are two know ones, a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. A fixed mindset is a person who doesn't take challenges and thinks inside of the box, while a growth mindset is when your willing to do challenges and new things.

We got given the task to complete a template based off one of the texts we got given. I chose the text about competitors helping or caring other competitors in the Olympics.  We had three templates to choose from and I chose template one meaning I have to pick an Important idea from the text and explain why it was important and how I have shown it. I loved writing about it especially about how I personally have shown it but struggled a bit about my grammar. Here is the link to the one as well as the picture below: Link

Even though this was a task this was not our task.
Our task was to write about a person who has shown grit or have proven that they have a growth mindset. I chose Bethany Hamilton, a surfer known for being attacked by a shark while surfing and losing an arm! But this didn't stop her from continuing to surf. I also explained what mindset was and what I have learnt after the text! I originally used canva to do it but moved it to google drawing for a better image.  Here is the link:Mindset

Peace week is back!

 Olá!

This week was inner peace week and our hub had to colour in a peace symbol.  I decided to do the two finger hand sign to represent peace! We also had to find a story online that represents peace and I found one I really liked!

The story was about a king who wanted an exquisite piece of art that was peaceful for his castle so he started a competition across the land. Various famous artist entered but were surprised to find out the winning artwork. From a far the art looked like a 'anger storm' covered with red shades, but if you look closely you might notice the green bush with a mother dove taking care of her eggs.

I learnt from this story that you don't have to look peaceful to be peaceful, even if they appear to be furious.
