Kia Ora Everyone!
For this week as you know New Zealand is Lockdown and that means distance learning.
We are continuing from last weeks task and are focusing on mindset. First what is mindset? Mindset is a way you think of things. There are two know ones, a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. A fixed mindset is a person who doesn't take challenges and thinks inside of the box, while a growth mindset is when your willing to do challenges and new things.
We got given the task to complete a template based off one of the texts we got given. I chose the text about competitors helping or caring other competitors in the Olympics. We had three templates to choose from and I chose template one meaning I have to pick an Important idea from the text and explain why it was important and how I have shown it. I loved writing about it especially about how I personally have shown it but struggled a bit about my grammar. Here is the link to the one as well as the picture below: Link
Kia ora Olivia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blog post. I love that you not only recount your learning but you are also reflecting on the learning you are engaging with. Both of your images are easy to follow. They explain your thinking clearly and I can see from the first you are reflecting on what the understanding means for you in your life.
The story of Beth Hamilton is a powerful one. You mentioned grit and she certainly seems to have it. Thinking about the Olympics and ParaOlympics I think that all those competitors also have grit and growth mindset too. Some of them have overcome a lot of failure and setbacks to get to the place they have today.
It also makes me wonder who else in my own life as these character traits? What about you, do you know people in your own life who show growth mindset and grit?
Thank you for sharing this very powerful blog post,
Keep up the great learning and blogging,
